“Can you imagine that girl! Who does she think she is? You know I have always loved her, since high school. But she has always been jealous of me. Jealous of the fact that I am a better writer. That I run a more successful startup, that I am more brilliant than she is.” Complained Gbemi

“ Okay, Gbemi I hear you but can you give me a little more flesh to this story?” Gbemi`s therapist asked nicely

“ She`s been working with an Initiative I started in tenth grade and she`s been really efficient but really quiet and almost always confused about everything. Well, we recently began a new project and she went awol, off the grid no communication whatsoever. After reaching out to her for three weeks we unanimously decided to kick her off the team. When she comes back and finds out she simply says goodbye. Nothing, no apology no explanation nothing. Well, actually she said our team lacks proper communication but that was it.” Gbemi reeled in annoyance

“ I see, that is an interesting way to have handled the situation. I would like to have a joint call during our next session do you think you can arrange that Gbemi?” Gbemi`s therapist asked calmly

“ I will ask her but I make no promises” Gbemi retorted

“Hey, Ade! My therapists would like us to have a joint session because you came up in my last session.” Gbemi stuttered over the phone.

Gbemi and I have known each other since I was five and she was four, as I share this occurrence with you I am twenty-one and Gbemi is twenty.

“ What platform and what time?” I responded speedily

“ Um.. skype at 7 pm on Saturday.” She said resentfully

“ How long would it last on average?” I asked with a hint of concern.

“ An hour, two maybe,” She said snidely

“ Well tell your therapist that I cannot make it,” I said with a smile

“ You cannot make it??” she retorted confused

“ I do not have the financial ability to make a two-hour video call and network in Nigeria is shoddy.”

“ Oh” she replied solemnly

“Also you don’t want me there, my absence will suggest that I am the real problem here isn’t that what you want? To not be the problem??” I asked excitedly

“ Well….” Gbemi Stuttered

“Gbemi, I completely understand and it would be insane to consider the possibility that you are wrong. Simply because the crux of the matter is a commonly retorted fact. Me, Ade I am hard to live with and love. There’s no need to stress the matter because once enough people have the same opinion it must be correct. It would simply be preposterous to consider the possibility that the vast majority has a similar problem and the different man is in the right.” I said calmly

After a couple of seconds, the line went dead, it’s a what’s app call and I am currently in Nigeria so I will assume network played a role in ending the call.
